Our History

1994-95: Years of Conception and Gestation
During those years the Lord put on our hearts a heavy burden for the physical and social needs of those whom we were ministering to, while serving as the national director with Campus Crusade for Christ Int’l in our native country of Ivory Coast in West Africa. The idea was a more holistic approach to the Gospel.

1995-98: Years of Confirmation and first ministry experiments
The Lord confirmed His vision of an holistic ministry that target both the spiritual and the physical and social needs of the people when we were studying theology at the Nairobi Int’l School of Theology. There the Lord gave us the opportunity not only to plant a new church in a slum of Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa) but also to open a school to meet the education of the children of this poor neighborhood who did not have any possibility to go any other school.

2000: The Year of a Clear Revelation of the Vision
In the year 2000, while doing doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas (USA), the Lord gave us for the first time more details about the vision He has been trying to communicate to us all the past years as we were serving Him. He also gave the revelation of the name of the ministry as AGAPE [the Greek word for God’s “love”]. That same year we officially launched the ministry under the name of Agape Leadership Ministry International, Inc, incorporated with the state of Texas and chartered with the IRS as nonprofit Christian organization. That same year a Board of Directors was also established with key local Christian leaders in the Dallas metropolitan area.

2001: The Years of 1st Mission Trips to Africa
During the Spring of 2001, Rev Alex accompanied by a member of the Board went for the first missionary trip to Africa, in the country of Ivory Coast, for a exploration mission, where they shared the vision with local Christian leaders and organize a leadership seminar for local pastors.
During the Summer of that same year a 2nd missionary trip to Ivory Coast with the whole Tah’s family plus a young American student took place from July to August. During that trip a national Board of Directors was established for Ivory Coast with an operating ministry team. Used clothes and shoes that we collected as donations in the USA completed with some local donations (soaps) were distributed in a low-in-come neighborhood of Abidjan that had been previously ravaged by fire in the presence of local City Hall officials and officials from the state government.
During that same trip we opened a local branch of the Agape School of Ministry to equip local Christian leaders and ministers.

2005: The Year of the Revelation of the House of Prayer
Revelation of the House of Prayer strategy while we serving as pastors of a church in Chicago, Illinois (USA). This new step in the revelation of the vision was later confirmed when Rev. Alex was in a period of 40 days of prayer and fasting from March to April 2006.

2007: The Year of Expanded Vision
While co-pastoring a church in Washington-DC, the Lord expanded the vision of the ministry to include not only leadership development, compassion or caring ministry, prayer for revival but also the economic and financial empowerment of God’s people. At the same time a new name that reflected more the expanded vision of the ministry was revealed as the Agape Kingdom  International Ministries. During that same period the first complete vision manual of the ministry was developed with the 4 original branches ministries: the agape kingdom leadership ministries, the agape kingdom house of prayer, the agape compassion ministries, and the agape
kingdom enterprise.

2012: The Year of New Beginning
As the Lord opened new doors for us to move to Cleveland in Ohio, He created new
opportunities to not only expand and complete the vision under its current as the Agape Kingdom International Mission, but also to begin to experiment the House of Prayer strategy by recruiting the first prayer warriors and open a daily intercessory prayer line. As a result of the ministry of the prayerline a church will be established as part of the expanded vision that now include outreach ministry and church planting.

2013: The Year of International Expansion.
In that year the Lord revealed unto us two new key strategies:
● The strategy to expand the ministry of the House of Prayer by establishing a vast
international network of prayer warriors in as many countries as possible, using the
channel of new social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
● In the same way the Lord revealed unto how to build a more global mission by
connecting us with pastors from different countries who wanted to affiliate their local churches with AKIM and thus represent us in their own countries. As a result of this new strategy AKIM is today represented in more than 15 countries around the world through the ministries of local pastors who are serving as associates with us.

2021 - Present :

The years of an anchorage of the vision through a viable and committed local church in Cleveland Ohio serving as the basis and headquarters of the Mission  For the first time I am feeling in my spirit that this is the time we have been waiting for the full speed launch of this Mission with the Holy Spirit. I see around me a team of young people who are willing and available to be used by the Lord whenever and wherever He wants to take them. Key elements of this new season in the life of the Mission:
(1) It all began when the Lord brought to me a group of young men and women to challenge me and my spouse to serve the Lord together and placed themselves willingly under our leadership. This came after everything was shut off because of the Covid-19 crisis.
(2) A church of young people available and willing to follow our leadership and do the works of the Lord and His kingdom.
(3) The revelation to set up a new Boards of Directors and Trustees for the Mission.
(4) A new approach to the international expansion based around the strategy of the Agape Global Institute for Transformational Leadership
(5) Open doors with Mission Pygmies Congo with Yao Kan
(6) The development of full scale new media ministry with a professional website connected to popular platforms such as google, apple, YouTube, roku and so on, with the possibility to produce and publish our own video, put our training materials online
(7) Publication of the book “Discovering The 7 Keys”
(8) 1st Mission trips in Haiti and East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania and RDC) in 2024 for the
implementation of the AGI-TL
