Compassionate Social Engagement and Actions through works of charity, community
empowerment, educational and healthcare ministries.
Finally, AKIM in line with its core identity of a compassionate mission, fuelled by our
essential principle of compassion to the world, is engaged in various social empowerment and
transformational ministries that are meant to meet the various socioeconomic needs of the
people and communities we are sharing the Gospel with and among which we are planting and
growing healthy churches.
We dare not to close our ears and eyes to the physical and social needs around us. We
dare not to ignore the cries of those suffering around us. We dare not to consider only the
spiritual needs of the people we are ministering to at the exclusion of all other needs they may
have. We refuse to preach a des-incarnated Gospel that draws a sharp division between what
are only spiritual needs that our gospel can only address and the physical and socioeconomic
needs that are beyond our reach and do not concern us (Proverbs 24:11-12).
AKIM is a holistic ministry that considers the human beings as a whole and we consider
that the Gospel should be able to address the whole needs of the whole human beings. This is
the reason we are involved in various works of charity, socioeconomic empowerment and
transformation. Of course our main focus in ministry remains the preaching of the gospel for
the salvation of the souls for eternity, yet we do that while taking into account the other needs
of the human beings and their communities since our gospel is not for disincarnate souls but
souls existing in physical bodies that whole human beings living in human communities (1
Thessalonians 5:23; Genese 2:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 12:1-2). .
In light of this, any field ministry of AKIM, especially in the developing countries will
always have the four essential components:
(1) A Church with its inclusive spiritual ministries of prayer for worship and revival,
preaching the gospel for the salvation of the souls, discipleship and leadership for the
empowerment of the saints, and mission through church planting & growth activities.
(2) A School for the development and education of the young and the less young to address
the mental and intellectual needs as well as the economic needs of peoples and
communities
(3) An Healthcare clinic to attend the physical needs of people and communities
(4) Community empowerment projects to help the less fortunates or poor among us.
