Prayer For Revival

Prayer for Revival through Prayer Movement of Prayer Warriors
Prayer is our first ministry, for the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul wants before anything
else to pray (1 Timothy 2:1-4). One of the first revelations that God has given to Rev Alex Tah-Bi
Makarios was about the House of Prayer strategy, a spiritual tool to mobilize believers and local
churches into prayer for revival. Since then prayer has been at the heart of this mission at the
steps of its growth and expansion and we want to keep things that way. Nothing must never
replace prayer as the foremost ministry of this mission. Prayer is not something we do when we
have nothing else to do, or in preparation of some other most important things, or as a last
resort. Prayer is our most important ministry, the most important thing we do, the only work we
do because it is our direct ministry to God himself. Prayer connects us with God, allows us to
communicate with God, to be in fellowship with Him, to spend qualitative time with Him. And
prayer is the only activity that can allow us to develop that personal intimacy with our God and
Heavenly Father.
But prayer is not just a means to develop and maintain personal intimacy or fellowship with
God. Prayer is also a mighty tool for warfare, in fact it is the only tool that God has given us to
participate in the divine work of creation, redemption and deliverance (Ephesians 6:18). Prayer
makes us participants in the divine work, for only through prayer can we make our needs and
the needs of others known to God. So prayer is a rare privilege that the believers and the church
have obtain anything, to change situations and circumstances, to bring about the fire of revival,
to set people free, to take back lost territories and blessings, to change curses into blessings, to
take away souls of men from the hands of the destroyers, to bring order out of chaotic
situations, to bring peace into trouble places and joy instead of sadness.
Finally prayer for AKIM is about generating a spiritual movement for revival and transformation
through an army of kingdom or prayer warriors. This is our ultimate goal when it comes to
prayer: we want to see, we strive to see and we struggle to see raise up a mighty army of prayer
or kingdom warriors, ready, equipped and empowered to pray and fast, to fight with God and
men, fight against all the forces of evil till we can witness a mighty move of the Spirit of God
sweeping over churches, cities and nations to save, heal, set free and transform for the sole
glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of glory (2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 62:1, 6-7; Ezekiel
22:30).
